NZ Honey Co Thyme Honey

New Zealand Thyme Honey comes from a single species of thyme that grows wild in the remote and rugged Central Otago Mountains of New Zealand’s South Island. This thyme was brought to New Zealand by the Chinese miners during the gold rush of the 1800s. In this day rugged enviroment thyme has thrived and is considered to be the only naturalised area of thyme outside Europe. During Springtime the side of the mountains are a mass of purple with thyme flowers, and the air is filled with an amazing fragrance. This is when our unique honey is produced by our bees.
